The Art of Hunting

Published by Editor 12 de July de 2011

I am a hunter. I leave very little to chance. Maybe I should explain to you that I once learned to be a hunter. I didn’t always live the way that I do today. At one point in my life, I had to change. Now I am pointing you in direction. I am guiding you. I know about what I speak of; someone taught me all of this. I did not discover this all on my own,

I believe that in ancient times, hunting was one of the most notable acts that a man could practice. All of the hunters were powerful men. In fact, the hunter had to be powerful right off the bat to be able to support the rigors of such a life.

There were periods in time when everyone knew that the hunter was the greatest of all men. Today, not everyone knows this, but there are many who still do. I know this, and one day you too will know. To be a hunter means that the person knows a great deal. It means that the person sees the world in various different ways. In order to be a hunter, it is necessary to be in perfect balance with the whole, if not, the hunt turns into a very insignificant task.

You do not necessarily have to have an interest in the hunt, nor a liking for it. I believe that the best hunters don’t even like to hunt; they merely hunt well, that is all. Therefore, hunters ought to be well adjusted individuals indeed. A hunter leaves very little to chance. You should learn to live in a different way.

To be Inaccessible

The secret of great hunters is to know when to evade or show oneself at the precise moment. You should learn to become purposefully available or not available. It doesn’t make a difference hiding, if everyone knows that you are hiding. Your problems with comprehension come from this. When you are hiding, all know that you are hiding, and when you are not, you are available for everyone to hammer on you.

You should take yourself away and reestablish yourself into a path of movement. All of your Self is there in a way that hiding won’t amount to anything; you could only imagine that you’re hiding. Being in the middle of a path means that all who pass by will watch your comings and goings.

The desired outcome is to be inaccessible. The art of the hunters is to become inaccessible. Being inaccessible means that you touch the world around you very moderately. You do not eat five portions of food, only one. You do not damage the plants in order to make a roasting pit. You do not expose yourself in the wind, unless it is indispensable. To not use and squeeze people until they wither away, especially those whom you love.

To be inaccessible means to purposefully avoid running out yourself and others. It means that you do not hunger nor despair, like the poor son of a jackal who thinks that he will never eat again as long as he lives and so devours all the food he possibly can.

A hunter knows that he will lure the prey many times into his trap, and so he does not need worry. To worry is to become accessible, accessible without him even knowing it. And after becoming worried, he grabs hold of anything he can in despair; and once he’s grabbed hold, it is probable that he runs out either himself or whom or what he has grabbed a hold of.

Being inaccessible does not mean hiding, or being mysterious. It does not by any means signify that you cannot work with other people. A hunter uses his world with parsimony and tenderness, without considering whether his world is of things, plants, animals, people … or power. A hunter relates intimately with his world, however, he is inaccessible to it.

He is inaccessible because he is not bending the world out of shape. He touches it lightly, stays the duration needed, and then moves on quickly without hardly leaving a trace.
